Factor structure and measurement invariance of the TIMSS 2015 mathematics attitude questionnaire: Exploratory structural equation modelling approach

چکیده

In the current study, appropriateness of Mathematics Attitude Questionnaire administered to middle school 8th grade students in TIMSS 2015 application exploratory structural equation and confirmatory factor analysis models was examined. The study conducted on 6079 making up sample Turkey. application, attitude items are presented under four headings called students’ interest mathematics, views engaging teaching mathematics lessons, self-confidence value mathematics. As a result investigation structure these items, questionnaire with its 5 factors 35 accepted be suitable for Exploratory Structural Equation Model (ESEM). Moreover, invariance depending gender investigated at six stages as configural, weak (metric), strong (scalar), strict, variance-covariance, latent mean through ESEM. It concluded that satisfied all conditions.
